On a night when the moon rises high,
There's a rumbling deep in the earth.
And the night has a star in her eyes,
Gazing on at the dragon's rebirth.
Silver scales in moonlight

A quicksilver sky.
And the path of the stars opens wide
Where the glittering wings glide.
And a legend is risen tonight,
Silver scales in the moon's shining light.
On a night when the darkness is thick,
And the shadows fall over the land,
He's a razor that cuts to the quick
Through the clouds flying fast as he can.

A thundering sky.
And the light of the moon fades away,
Leaving only the bright wings displayed.
Through the night sky a shattering roar
Sends a shudder straight down heaven's core.
And the wind howls
And the fire burns
'Til the night turns into day
And he shimmers
Like the silver sea,
As it catches the sun's bright rays.
On a night when the moon rose up high,

Now the dragon has flame in his eyes
On the morning that marks his rebirth.

Jupiter stands like a sentinel under a searchlight
Venus is reaching her arms in the gulf of the night
To baptize the shadow the fallow moon keeps in her cradle
Wrapped in her mantle of light
While down on the earth there is silence in spaces between us
Distance outreaching the lonely expanse of the stars
Thinking if only our fingertips touched in the darkness
Maybe the world could be ours
But if you looked from not so very far away
Suddenly every star we can name
Would fit in the pin-light
That sits in the frame of your eye
And we are as small as a universe
Born in a burst of "I've known you before"
Aren't you the heat I have carried so long in my core?
