I don't know but I heard it sung
First one fell and he died too young
Mad king closed in a heart of stone
Broke his crown and he died alone
Dark man's voice goes low and high
Old folk say the face is new
Hush now baby, don't you cry
The eyes of the dragon are upon you
I don't know but the people tell
This one walks in a wicked spell
Gave too much for a liar's throne
Sits there now and he sits alone
Dark man's touch is cruel and light
Dark man does as he will do
Ah, but hush now baby, don't you cry
The eyes of the dragon are upon you.
I don't know but the whispers told
Next in line has a heart of gold
Dream good dreams the whole night through
The world is wide and it waits for you
Dark man listens all the time
But your dreams are free and your dreams are true
Hush now baby, don't you cry
The eyes of the dragon are upon you.
The eyes of the dragon are upon you.
I could listen to Lauren sing forever. Her writing is vivid and sensitive, sweetly and painfully human--never apologizing for sharp corners and rough edges. The beauty of her spirit shines through. Summer Russell

This is a wonderful recording. For a live recording the quality is amazing. The vocal balance with voice and piano is perfect. I very much enjoyed the stories between the songs, they enriched the meaning of the songs. Anyone who is interested in mythology and a wonderful story teller who does so with music, this is for you Kathleen SLOAN
