The wind screams at the window
As the stars turn to dust
And the blood of the moon
On the highway is strewn
By the sound of his hooves in the hush
His horse is as black as the bottomless sky
His eyes are the color of rain
And it's dry as the desert and cold as the night
Til I hear him call my name
Bring the thunder
Bring the storm
Bring the winter to keep me warm
Cast your shadow in the lightning
Bring your wings to wrap around me
And the rain to let me drown and be reborn
Bring the thunder
Bring the storm
My eyes have filled the sky with fire
As I run through the river at the gate
And I see his shadow falling
And he pours himself upon me
And we tangle in a thousand shades of grey
He touches my lips and he kisses my eyes
And he batters my face with the wind
And I'm wild as the water and warm as the dawn
And the fury and the fire rise within
Bring the thunder
Bring the storm
Bring the winter to keep me warm
Cast your shadow in the lightning
Bring your wings to wrap around me
And the rain to let me drown and be reborn
Bring the thunder
Bring the storm
Bring the winter to keep me warm
Cast your shadow in the lightning
Bring your wings to wrap around me
And the rain to let me drown and be reborn
And the rain to let me drown and be reborn
Bring the thunder
Bring the storm
I could listen to Lauren sing forever. Her writing is vivid and sensitive, sweetly and painfully human--never apologizing for sharp corners and rough edges. The beauty of her spirit shines through. Summer Russell
This is a wonderful recording. For a live recording the quality is amazing. The vocal balance with voice and piano is perfect. I very much enjoyed the stories between the songs, they enriched the meaning of the songs. Anyone who is interested in mythology and a wonderful story teller who does so with music, this is for you Kathleen SLOAN
